Vox Magazine Features

My first experience with Vox Magazine was as a digital editor. I jumped in and took on the Spring Preview feature, which was a collection of short service pieces. As a digital editor, I was tasked with transforming print-ready stories into versions that worked equally well for online consumption. This required adding videos, photographs and other digital assets for pacing purposes. I actively participated in feature meetings where department editors and magazine heads discussed what they wanted to do with each issue, pitched my ideas for online presentation and then executed them when it was time to publish the edition. Being in that role also introduced me to what it would be like as a department (print) editor with the magazine. Although my focus as a digital editor was primarily on the content being displayed on Vox's website, my experience familiarized me with various editorial processes. As a result, the transition to a department editor the following year was smooth. As a print editor, I fact checked both department stories and features, edited for style (both AP and Vox Magazine style), worked with writers to better their stories and brainstormed all forms of presentation.

Below are the six features that I worked on as a digital and print editor of the city magazine.
